B.S., M.S., & Ph.D.
Two decades ago, the University of California at Santa Cruz brought together researchers at the interfaces of hardware, software, and applications in a unique standalone Computer Engineering Department. Today, our Department includes 25 faculty members and 100 graduate students engaged in cutting-edge research in these areas of excellence: networking, embedded and autonomous systems, computer system design, CAD, and digital media and sensor technology.
Come join our team of talented students at the forefront of technological innovation.
Engineering the Future
Computer Engineering focuses on the design and analysis of computers and on their applications as components of systems. Researchers in the CE Department at UCSC are breaking new ground in computer networking, embedded and autonomous systems, computer system design, sensor technology and digital media. Our students are engaged in challenging research projects, with an emphasis on system building and innovative applications.
An Open Environment
Our location on the Monterey Bay facilitates collaboration with the industry in the adjacent Silicon Valley, as well as with local research laboratories such as the NASA Ames Center, the IBM Almaden Center, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. Students and faculty in Computer Engineering work closely with colleagues in the UCSC Baskin School of Engineering.
